Going into Saturday Day 3 of Luminosity 2023 the temperature was not only higher than the previous 2 but traditionally Saturday is the busiest day of the festival with work and personal obligations being less. And sure enough, this was certainly the case. To stay off the heat and the crowd, we entered the festival around 4p, but this didn’t stop us from enjoying the live stream of Twitch for Peter Steele and The Thrillseekers throwing down some of the legendary tracks. Making our trek once again via bike from Center Parcs the bike racks were notably fuller, and making our way into the festival later and it appears many others had the same idea as the GA lines were wrapped into the overflow, and once inside, the wait to get thru security was about 30 minutes with a more scrutinized search through bags, etc.
Inside you could feel the crowd with thicker, the sun was warmer, and moving around throughout the crowd was a bit more challenging than the previous 2 days. Today’s efforts were very much in trying to catch some of my favourite artists while dodging the heat and the sun. But this didn’t stop the rest of the crowd from packing out the venue, with some reports of over 12000 in attendance.
Today’s game plan was to catch as much of the Copacabana (where the uplifting was moved to from Friday night) as well as the Beachclub Bernies, which was hosting more of the progressive Trance artists. Bouncing between them to see the likes of Darren Porter / Metta & Glyde, Marsh / Orkidea, Ram / Alex Di Stefano, then making the final rounds to all 4 stages for Bryan Kearney / Sam Jones / John 00 Fleming / Fred Baker was much easier as the sun was setting. The crowd had started to thin out a little.
Getting to connect with more of the Twitch Trance Family and artists that weren’t able to make it during the week, being mesmerized by another amazing sunset, and immersing in the live sounds of artists that I would otherwise have been unable to see in the US was once again the highlight of what makes Luminosity such a magical place. Sad that only Sunday lies ahead but still several more of my absolute favourite artists are taking the stage.
